Are you one of Christ's sheep?
When he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them: and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. John 10:4
Points to think about:
1.) Sheep hear the voice of the shepherd
2.) The shepherd has knowledge of who his sheep are! (personal relationship with them)
3.) The sheep follow the shepherd.
Christ is our shepherd.....are you one of his sheep? Do you hear his voice, not with your ears, but with your heart? Do you follow Christ?

Transformation Continued:
Ok so did you do the reading i left here the other day? Lets summarize. Basically Jesus was sent by God to pay the penalty of our sins. Remember the wages of sin is death, but the God's gift is eternal life given by Jesus Christ. So in return we have a choice to follow or not. We will touch on the ones who don't follow later. Today lets focus on the ones who decide to follow. As a follower of Jesus Christ there are steps to take. First you must accept Jesus into your heart and ask forgiveness of your sins...Many people think it ends here, but it really doesn't. there is much more work to be done. You know you are a sinner and need Jesus's forgiveness. You will want to be baptized and make a public profession of your faith in Him. Again it doesn't end here. Many folks think "well, I have confessed I am a sinner....I asked forgiveness...and I got baptized...Great lets go celebrate" but wait...there is more. You don't want to stand still in your faith..you want to grow..you want to be close to God as possible. Humans by nature are not and never will be sinless here on earth. So we must stay in constant prayer...constant contact with God..reading our bible and living a life that would be pleasing to God. So we need to give a sacrifice. Now I am not talking about killing an animal at the alter. I am talking about sacrificing yourself. Please don't kill yourself as a sacrifice. As we read the versus in Romans we need a LIVING sacrifice. See the word LIVING. We want our bodies to be holy and pure since it is a dwelling place of the holy spirit. We want to be pure and live a pure life so when we witness to others they can see we live what we preach.
Here are some more scriptures not all of them but a few to read on:
Romans 3:10-11, 23/ 5:1/ 6:23/ 8:1,35,28-30
Points to keep in mind.
1-God has taken us who are unrighteous and made us righteous.
2-You have been brought into a state of peace with God.
Our purpose in life is to transform from the ugly duckling swimming in sin in the world to becoming a beautiful swan who is Godly and not worldly.

Transformation
At work I am part of a bible study group called SALT. This week we are studying "transformation" We will be meeting tomorrow from noon-12:40. If you'd like to join us we will be reading Romans 12:1-2
Now I read the Contemporary English Version so the versus I will be quoting are from that version.
"Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That's the most sensible way to serve God. Dont be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him."
What are your thoughts on this scripture? What does it say to you?

A hard lesson

As a growing christian, I find myself in the middle of many lessons God is teaching me. The most recent one is about praying for enemies. WOW! This is very hard one to swallow sometimes. It is one of those things that is easier said than done. So incase you are learning this lesson as well let me provide you with some verses that have been shared with me.
1.) Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies. Bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you.
2.) Numbers 6:24-26 I pray that the Lord bless and protect you and that he will show you mercy and kindness. May the Lord be good to you and give you peace.

Things to think about
Many times we make the mistake of thinking that Christ's help in needed only for sickrooms or in times of overwhelming sorrow and suffering. This is not True. Jesus wishes to enter into every mood and every moment of our lives. I do not believe that anything happens to the obedient Christian by accident.
